Here’s an engaging place value math center activity to teach your students how to count tens and ones using base ten blocks. With these set of place value task cards your students will be counting tens and ones using base ten blocks. They will solidify their understanding that two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones.
These place value task cards help students visualize these otherwise abstract place value concepts. They will be able to see how double digit numbers are represented using base ten blocks. They will also learn how to count by tens as well as ones using the base ten blocks. Students will also learn read numbers up to 99 with this activity.
This resource has a Power Point Presentation which can be used for whole group and small group instruction. Use this to introduce and review place value concepts with you students. It also comes as an EASEL activity to assign to individual students.
